There are many things to do for example - The River Tweed and its tributaries is classed as one of the best salmon fishing rivers in Europe. Many trails criss-cross this area including the St. Cuthbert’s Way which passes the bottom of the garden and Just a short stroll along the river path brings you to St. Boswells Golf Course ( 9 hole ) a member of the Freedom of the Fairways Golf passport Scheme.

Swinton and Leitholm have a hotel which serves meals on most evenings and each has a village shop and post office.
Swinton Mill is an ideal location for various activities such as golf, fishing, cycling, and walking. The Cheviot hills and beautiful Northumberland coast are a half hour's drive away. If all this sounds too energetic then why not just relax in the peaceful surroundings of Garden Cottage.
