Birdlife is abundant, with a resident Barn owl. Coastal nature reserves will appeal to walkers & birdwatchers alike. Seal pups can be seen on the beaches in Autumn.

Fishing is available on the Louth Canal, with cycling on the Lincolnshire Cycle Route.

The livelier resorts of Mablethorpe & Cleethorpes are nearby, with attractions at Lincoln, Grimsby & the Humber Bridge providing day trips.

Church Farm House
The historic City of Lincoln boasts a fine medieval centre and has both a magnificent Cathedral and Castle.

In December, the City hosts a renowned Christmas Market but all year round it offers some fine architecture, shopping, museums, theatre and restaurants.

The Lincolnshire Wolds is nationally renowned for its fauna and flora and provides an impressive backdrop for walkers, cyclists and motorists.

The Lincolnshire Coastline boasts some of Europe's best "blue flag" beaches (Sutton on Sea) where safety (shallow shelving beach) and clean sands combine to provide excellent facilities for the family. In addition, popular resorts such as Skegness provide a full range of more traditional seaside fun.

3 Luxury pine lodges carved into woodland setting on the edge of Duck Lake, used only for fishing. Set in a country park offering golf, water and jet skiing and country walks.

The facilities available included a clubhouse with bar and restaurant, a soft play area for children and a gym and sauna. There is also a lakeside diner with cycle hire and tackle shop, canoe hire and go-karts.

Ducklake is removed from the activities above and so offers peace and quiet away from noise and bustle.

Good eating available in the nearby village (Woodhall Spa) and other pubs in the area.

Lapwing Lodge
This hidden rural location is an ideal base for touring and exploring Lincolnshire, which, has plenty to keep you occupied whether you are looking for an action packed short break or a calm relaxing holiday.

The high quality pine lodges surround a fishing lake available only for use by guests staying in our lodges.

Rural Roosts (a family run business) is part of a manor farm, positioned in the quiet rural village of Stainfield, 8 miles east of Lincoln.

The farm, which is mainly arable, surrounds the 8-acre Rural Roosts site. There are some lovely walks around the site with a viewpoint looking out to Lincoln Cathedral as well as longer walks around the farm. There are also plenty of public footpaths and cycle routes in the surrounding area.

Lincolnshire Wolds 8 miles, coast 35 miles.


Lapwing Lodge

Little Walk Cottage
A superbly converted brick and pan tile range of stables, incorporating original features and a stunning oak and glazed garden room.

Barbecue and garden furniture, local information and reading material, ample parking. All bed linen and towels provided. Electricity and fuel included. Cot and high chair. Non smoking. No pets. (This is a working farm with livestock). Trout fishing by arrangement, tennis court (imperfect condition).

Woodland walks and access to local footpath network in ‘Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. The holiday cottage overlooks rolling hills, meadows and green pastures, can you think of a more relaxing way to enjoy a self catering holiday in the beautiful heart of Lincolnshire.

We are in a rural location with no immediate neighbours. The west wing of the property is effectively a totally refurbished centrally heated 2 bedroom bungalow.

The property is ideal for people who prefer peace and quiet within a relaxing environment. Should you like a little exercise then walking, cycling, bird watching etc are all available on the doorstep. Walk Villa
Walk Villa is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Beesby, a quiet rural village in-between the market town of Alford and the golden beaches of Mablethorpe. Set amidst the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.

Although Beesby itself has no shops, the village of Maltby-le-Marsh is only 1.5 miles away and has a village shop with Post Office, 2 pubs, garage and fishing lake. Woodthorpe is 1 mile away and has the famous Woodthorpe Garden Centre, golf course and country inn. Fantasy Island theme park at Ingoldmells is only 25 minutes away which leads nicely on to Skegness with all its seaside attractions only another 5 minutes further.

Other places of interest include Horncastle (1/2hr), Hemswell (1hr) with its Sunday market & antique centres, Lincoln (1hr) with its magnificent cathedral & good shopping area and many more.


Wayside Cottage
Wayside is a renovated cottage bungalow in the centre of Horsington, just 300 yards walk to the Elder Tree Public House. The cottage is situated down a quiet lane just off the main road (B1190), set in its own mature open plan gardens. It overlooks the grounds of the church and has ample parking.

Wayside is an ideal central point to explore the county. A stone in the churchyard at Waddingworth, 2 miles from Horsington, had a hole in which was reputedly the exact centre Of the old county of Lincolnshire. Less than twenty miles away is the Cathedral City of Lincoln with its historic buildings and castle. The seaside resorts of Mablethorpe and Skegness are also close. The Lincolnshire Wolds are just 4 miles away from the cottage and within easy access, to the south, are the Fens.

Also close is the inland resort of Woodhall Spa with its peaceful woodlands full of rhododendrons and Britain's only back projection cinema, and the championship golf course.
