There is always something in a name and Anson House is named after Avro Anson - bred, raised and raced from Star Cottage.
Avro completed two Grand Nationals, finished first in the Stayers Hurdles at Cheltenham and won a multitude of flat, hurdle and chase races for us and is still here in honorable retirement.

Archway Cottage is an 18th Century barn recently converted to a high standard into two cottages. They are warm and welcoming with wonderful views from windows over open countryside.
West Leas is a small traditional dales farm with just 50 sheep and 6 cows. Lambs and calves can also be seen. It is quiet and peaceful but not isolated. The village shop is only 1 mile away.
The Farm is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with easy access to the many small towns of North Yorkshire and 'James Herriot Country'. You could visit a Market Town almost every day.
The ancient Cathedral City of Ripon is only 6 miles away, with quaint shops and an open market every Thursday. The ancient tradition of the Hornblower is not to be missed in the Market Square every evening at 9pm.The Market Square has recently been repaved and it's beauty increased. Ripon Racecourse often called the Garden racecourse. The narrow ancient streets of Ripon are now much quieter because of the bypass taking most of the traffic to the East of this small City. Ripon has a selection of restaurants and take- aways, small shops, and some of the major retail stores. The Spa Baths offer swimming or sauna, and are adjacent to the beautiful Spa Gardens.

Sinnington Common Farm is a working family farm with 135 acres. It is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors in Ryedale.
The farm offers a range of self-catering accommodation from the luxury barn conversion, Innisfree, to the mews cottage, Mill View, which is not situated on the farm. There are 4 cottages in all and the other two are two small holiday cottages that offer accommodation for two people in each.
The many farmyard animals on the farm include goats (with kids in the summer), poultry, cattle, ponies, a pot-bellied pig, friendly farm cats, ewes and lambs (pet lambs to feed at certain times of the year) and Max the hyper dog.
The owners welcome guests and invite them to bring their own pets on holiday with them, there is a picturesque farm walk with wildlife to see including foxes, hares, the occasional deer, curlews, partridge and pheasant.

The cottage is built with heavy stone walls, exposed beams and has a spacious kitchen, cosy living room and two double bedrooms. A front and enclosed rear garden, with uninterrupted views of the countryside, completes the cottage.
It provides an ideal base for walking and exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. It is situated in the village of Snainton, the winner of the National Village of the Year in 1998. Snainton has a village shop, Post Office, two petrol stations, Dr's Surgery, two pubs and an excellent childrens play area.
The busy market town of Pickering is nine miles to the west, whilst the seaside town of Scarborough is nine miles to the east. Historic York is an easy drive away. |

Dixieland is situated at the end of a mile long lane and therefore is very quiet, your nearest neighbour some 1/2 mile distant. You are welcome to bring your pets providing you take care of them.
Slingsby itself is not far from Malton, North Yorkshire. Easy access by car are Helmsley, Hovingham, Nunnington and Castle Howard. Pickering is slightly further away, being the start of an 18 mile stretch of Private Railway which goes over the North Yorkshire Moors as far as Whitby.
There are also the East Coast seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington within easy reach. Further inland is the Vale of York and York City which has many historic streets and museums, the Minster, the National Railway Museum and the new Viking Dig and Centre.

Littlebeck nestling in its steep sided valley, within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, is a sanctuary for locals and visitors alike.
Shrouded in woodland and steeped in history, this huddle of cottages invites a closer look.
A popular walk from Hollybush Farm is Falling Foff - a 30ft waterfall which can be spectacular at a heavy rain, often used in the filming of 'Heartbeat'.
Three miles away is the historic fishing port of Whitby, with its busy working harbour, cobbled streets and tucked away yards, as well as miles, of uncrowded sandy beaches. There are rock pools to explore and fossels to find. |

Hollyside is an end terrace, stone built cottage on the edge of the village green. The green is accessible via the garden gate. There is a stream running at the bottom of the garden and sheep wondering around at will!!
The local shop/tearoom is across the road from Hollyside and there is a local museum as well as other gift shops nearby. The local pub is a short walk and serves meals and has a beer garden.
There are lots of walks from Hutton le Hole around the National Park. Nearby is Pickering and Kirbymoorside for more choice of pubs/shops.
Hollyside has a barbecue and an enclosed garden with furniture. The village is idyllic. It is perfect for both families and couples to spend time in a peaceful, beautiful location.

Visitors are very welcome to sit in the orchard - a most relaxing occupation on warm summer evenings. The orchard has apple and plumb trees together with bushes of gooseberries, and red and black currants. There is a paved area for a portable barbecue which may be borrowed on request.
Keepers Cottage is attached to the owner's home and is set in spacious lawned grounds, shared with the owner. The lounge overlooks a paddock in which sheep are usually grazing, together with lambs in springtime. A second paddock behind the cottage provides the cottage with a quiet and peaceful location, although only a few yards from Gillamoor's central village green and the 'Royal Oak' country pub & resturant.

Sinnington Common Farm is a working family farm with 135 acres. It is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors in Ryedale.
The farm offers a range of self-catering accommodation from the luxury barn conversion, Innisfree, to the mews cottage, Mill View, which is not situated on the farm. There are 4 cottages in all and the other two are two small holiday cottages that offer accommodation for two people in each.
The many farmyard animals on the farm include goats (with kids in the summer), poultry, cattle, ponies, a pot-bellied pig, friendly farm cats, ewes and lambs (pet lambs to feed at certain times of the year) and Max the hyper dog.
The owners welcome guests and invite them to bring their own pets on holiday with them, there is a picturesque farm walk with wildlife to see including foxes, hares, the occasional deer, curlews, partridge and pheasant.
