Nearby forests such as Harwood provide fast and technical fire track trails you will remember for a very long time. We also can supply safe storage for your bikes too.
The famous River Coquet runs literally past the front door of the cottages, offering the game fisherman with fantastic challenges at Salmon & Sea Trout in season. For the golfer, the county is well served with courses, whatever level you play at. There are numerous traditional english pubs and restaurants all within easy traveling distance, and the village of Rothbury offers a more comprehensive range of shops and stores. |

It is a traditional Northumbrian stone built cottage, in a terrace, which was originally for shepherds working the local moors. The B6341 was an old “Drove road for taking Cheviot sheep to market.
The surrounding countryside is dramatic and the panoramic view from the conservatory is ever changing.
Excellent and varied walking can be found locally.
Edlingham village boasts a Saxon church and a fortified manor or castle. Cragside , Alnwick Castle and the Heritage coast are all within easy reach.

Glendale Cottage is situated 250 yards off the Military Road, 1.25 miles West of Cawfields, one of the most picturesque spots on Hadrians Wall which winds Eastwards to Steel Rigg and onto Housteads where can be seen the foundations of a Roman encampment.
Two miles West on the Military Road is Walltown, with awe inspiring views looking North towards Scotland, and nearby a splendid Roman lifestyle and artefacts museum.
The front of the cottage faces South with uninterrupted views overlooking Haltwhistle, over towards Alston to the West and the Lake District, with Haydon Bridge and Hexham to the East, the garden is secluded and one can feel the alfresco environment and enjoy a barbecue in total tranquillity.
The swimming pool is available to guests by arrangement with the owner for a small fee. |

Townhead House is a comfortable family house in Harbottle in the Northumberland National Park. Behind the house are the castle ruins, and the front looks out to heather clad hills. Harbottle is a beautiful village with a cosy pub, and is ideally suited for walking, cycling and relaxing. The wild Cheviot hills are on the doorstep. Safe road cycling is available all round, and especially up the valley beside the tumbling waters of the Coquet.
The delightful small market town of Rothbury is 8 miles away and offers restaurants, pubs, and many interesting shops. In July the traditional music festival draws huge crowds. Local National Trust properties include Cragside and Wallington. Excellent day trips include Alnwick, Newcastle and Holy Island. |
