South Cornish Coast Cottages

1 Rosevean Cottages is on the outskirts of St Hilary at the foot of Cornwall. Next to open fields and woods with footpaths. View towards St Ives. Two miles from the nearest sandy beaches and three miles from St Michael's Mount.

Ideal base for exploring both the Land's End and the Lizard peninsulas. Close to National Trust gardens, Paradise Park (zoo), Seal Sanctuary, museums etc. Shops and pubs serving food are within 3/4 of a mile at Goldsithney.

This is a bright, spacious and comfortable cottage with sunny front and back gardens. Sensible use of the heating oil and electricity are included in the rental. Duvets provided, bring your own bed linen and towels or can be provided at cost.

These are two very elegant properties, one Georgian and the other Regency, in the city of Plymouth. They both have easy access to the city centre with its shops, theatre, cinemas, leisure centre with ice rink, and 300 metres from Plymouth's main train station.

Situated in the quiet village of Sithney this traditional terraced cottage has been tastefully renovated preserving character and original features. It is very well maintained and equipped and furnished to a high standard.

Only two miles from both Helston, famous for its floral dance and the historic fishing village of Porthleven, this cottage provides an ideal base for exploring South West Cornwall. The region has a wealth of sandy beaches, coves and idyllic walks only a short distance away.

Anchorage Cottage
Portscatho is a smallish fishing village on the South Coast of Cornwall. It offers perfect peace and tranquility, numerous
sandy beaches, fishing, sailing, wind surfing, bird watching and superb walking.

200 year old Anchorage Cottage, a self contained wing of our own home, is at the water's edge and is decorated with Liberty and Sanderson fabrics. Visitors have exclusive use of waterside garden and terrace.

A good range of village shops are 250 yards away and a
friendly family pub serves good food as do many of the restaurants and inns in the nearby villages.

Short breaks are not available. The cottage is not suitable for children.

These are four properties that share owners but not location. They are delightful conversions of traditional Cornish buildings set in the inspiring country of the south Cornish coast.

Gwarthegva Barn is a newly converted barn of honey coloured granite with slate roofs and probably dates from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is set in a tranquil, south facing valley. Two miles from the coast, Helford River, 1 mile Mawnan Smith village.

Cider Press cottage is a newly converted cart shed with stripped wood floors on the same site as Gwarthegva Barn.

Argal Lodge Cottage is a Gothic gamekeeper's cottage on the edge of woodland, it offers secluded and comfortable accommodation. Hidden up a tree-lined drive, the house has a good sized garden with a sunny and sheltered terrace which is safe for children. It is extremely well placed for beaches, riding, tropical gardens, Helford River, 2 miles West of Falmouth.

Harbour Cottage is situated just two minutes from Falmouth harbour and main street. It offers a high standard of accommodation on three floors.


Ash Cottage
This beautiful former Duchy of Cornwall Farm has 9 luxury cottages sleeping from 2 to 10 persons and is set in the peaceful wooded east Looe valley.

Each cottage is centrally heated and fully equipped, most cottages have their own secluded gardens and there is secure parking on site.

There are many facilities on site including fishing, tennis, mini golf, badminton and a large games room and fully licensed bar.

We have our own railway halt where guests can catch the railcar and enjoy car free days out via The Looe valley line.

We have some cottages specially designed for the less able bodied with all accommodation on the ground floor.

We are only 3 miles from Looe and its beaches.


Barton Woods Cottage
The cottage, a stone barn conversion, stands in the landscaped grounds of 16th Century Kenegie Manor overlooking Mounts Bay and Penzance. Arranged on 3 levels the cottage enjoys panoramic views over the Rosemorran Valley from the lounge and all three bedrooms. There is parking for one vehicle at the front of the property and more in the main car park.

The cottage is ideally situated being only a mile from Penzance, with its wide variety of shops and restaurants and a similar distance from the sandy beaches of Marazion and St Michaels Mount. A little further afield is Sennen Cove, popular with surfers and St Ives with its picturesque harbour and the new Tate Gallery.

The pretty village of Gulval is only half a mile away, the shortest route being by the footpath opposite the Manor's main entrance. The village has
a post office, church and an inn that serves food.

Use of the Kenegie Manor leisure facilities, (inc indoor pool, tennis courts, bar with bar snacks) is included subject to seasonal availability (end May to mid Sept for 2004)'

Beachcomber
"Stargazey" which is named after the pie made famous in The Mousehole Cat story, is a 2-bedroomed apartment in an attractive, older style building, once part of the Cable & Wireless training school, which has been awarded 4 stars by the English Tourist Council.

It is situated in the picturesque valley of Porthcurno just 400 yards from one of the most spectacular beaches in the country. At just ¼ mile from the famous Minack Open Air Theatre the apartment provides an ideal base to experience the cultural richness that southern Cornwall has to offer. Land's End and the sandy beach of Sennen Cove are just 3 miles away.

The apartment itself is beautifully appointed and comfortably furnished. It has a private terraced area with barbecue facilities and there is free use of the tennis courts opposite.

Nestling at the foot of the cliffs, adjacent to the harbour lies Chaipel Steps Cottage, reputedly one of the oldest cottages in the village. You will be spoilt by the wonderful view of the harbour and charmed by the crooked streets of Polperro.

Trehalvin’s facilities include a heated swimming pool, which is open from May to September and a bubbling hot tub for you to relax in.

For the children there is a play area with swings and badminton, they will love to see the ducks, chickens, lambs and possibly an ostrich on the neighbouring farm.

The cottages have been tastefully converted from single storey stone barns and each cottage has it’s own screened garden with seating. Inside the centrally heated cottages are furnished in the traditional country cottage style, but have modern shower rooms and kitchens.

Holly Cottage
Four cottages, set amidst beautiful rolling countryside, our Cornish stone cottages (the Hayloft, Linhay and Holly) plus superior barn conversion (Ricann Cottage) provide excellent accommodation for the perfect peaceful holiday.

All have woodburners with logs provided free, centrally heated and are fully double glazed and central heating.

There is a games barn, with snooker, darts and table tennis for wet days.

Children are welcome, and can play safely in the paddocks, meet the goats and sheep, feed the rabbits and the chickens, and even collect the eggs!

Kernow Cottage
Porthleven is an attractive Cornish fishing village; the picturesque, cobbled harbour area is within one minutes level walk. On foot, the extensive beach can be reached in under 5 minutes. The coastal path affords a spectacular walk to the west; to the east a stroll through woodlands beside a freshwater lake - a haven for birdwatchers.

The village has a supermarket, chemist, Post Office, newsagents, fresh fish and pasty shops. Kernow Cottage, though quiet, is close to the centre.

The market town of Helston has a leisure centre, boating pool, Flambards theme park/rollercoasters, Victorian Village and award winning gardens.

Penzance, Falmouth, Truro, St Ives (with Tate Gallery) and the Lizard Peninsula are easily reached. The Eden Project offers an interesting day out.

Mount Earl
Mount Earl offers a high degree of privacy and seclusion. A quarter of a mile from the nearest public lane, set above the beautiful Downas Valley within 32 acres of private heath and woodland, where nature lovers can enjoy the unusual flora and fauna. Recently the woodland has revealed the ruins of an ancient mill discovered close to the enchanting Downas stream.

The cottage is situated 1½ miles from Coverack and only a 20 minute rugged walk to the beautiful Downas Cove where seals and basking sharks have been spotted. The south west coast path is close by incorporating the breathtaking vantage point of Black Head and far reaching views towards England's most southerly point.

There are many things to do in the area within a short drive. Beaches at Coverack, Downas Cove, Kennack Sands, Porthallow and Godreavy Cove. Attractions at Flambards Theme Park, Roskily Dairy Farm, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Goonhily Satellite Observatory visitors centre, Lizard Point. Tropical Gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah and the picturesque Helford River Land's End and the Minnack Open Air Theatre are both about 30 miles. Eden Project approx. 40 miles.

The Anchorage
The Anchorage is situated in the hamlet of Budock Vean on the stunning Port Navas Creek, an arm of the beautiful Helford River. It lies close to Daphne du Maurier’s, romantic 'Frenchman’s Creek' just a few miles south west of the historic port of Falmouth and is within easy reach of the National Maritime Museum and The Eden Project.

The beautiful, internationally renowned, sub-tropical gardens of Trebah, Glendurgan and Carwinion are all within one mile of the property. The famous Budock Vean Hotel with its country club, 18 hole golf course and renowned restaurant is directly adjacent.

There are numerous public beaches between the house and Falmouth. Close by at Helford Passage is the well known Ferryboat Inn and restaurant and by boat across the river in Helford is the Shipwrights Arms pub and restaurant.

The house is approached off a private lane serving only a few select residences and has its own sweeping driveway leading down to the imposing entrance, double garage and parking area.

The sub-tropical gardens extend to 1.5 acres and the extensive lawns gently slope down from the private lane above, to the creek side. At the top end of the garden are numerous Palm Trees,Rhododendrons, Hydrangeas, Azaleas, Camellias, Holly bushes, Roses and Clematis.

The Hayloft
This beautiful former Duchy of Cornwall Farm has 9 luxury cottages sleeping from 2 to 10 persons and is set in the peaceful wooded east Looe valley.

Each cottage is centrally heated and fully equipped, most cottages have their own secluded gardens and there is secure parking on site.

There are many facilities on site including fishing, tennis, mini golf, badminton and a large games room and fully licensed bar.

We have our own railway halt where guests can catch the railcar and enjoy car free days out via The Looe valley line.

We have some cottages specially designed for the less able bodied with all accommodation on the ground floor.

We are only 3 miles from Looe and its beaches.


The Linhay

The Lookout
The Lookout is a traditional Cornish cottage located in the popular fishing village of Porthleven. It sits above the outer harbour beside the coastal path and has stunning views over the outer harbour, along Porthleven beach and out to sea. Just a stone's throw away there are magnificent clifftop walks and views over Mounts Bay towards Newlyn and Mousehole.

It is an easy walk down to the harbour, past The Ship, a 17th Century inn, to the centre of the village where shops, restaurants and another two public houses can provide the necessities of life.

The Village is ideally placed to explore West Cornwall. You will discover many nearby picturesque coves and beaches and relax in the dramatic scenery that abounds. There is a wide variety of sporting and cultural pursuits available nearby. Also, for the dedicated shopper Penzance, Truro and Falmouth are within easy reach.

A £35 deposit is required for elec and any breakages - the balance will be refunded immediately after the holiday is taken.


The Old Coach House
The Old Coach House is a comfortable, spacious, two bedroom stone cottage. It sleeps 3 people and is entirely separate and self contained within the grounds of 9 Fore Street, Tregony. The cottage is very well equipped and has been decorated and furnished in traditional country style to a high standard.

The Roseland Peninsula is designated as an Area of of Outstanding Natural Beauty and runs due south from Tregony down to St Mawes. It is one of the most picturesque and unspoilt parts of the British Isles. There are pretty villages, lovely sandy beaches, delightful rivers and countryside, which all make this a perfect place for a holiday.

Tregony is situated approximately 8 miles east of Truro with St Mawes 10 miles to the south.


The Old Dairy
The Old Dairy is a small, single-storey cottage in a sheltered, pretty, very quiet Cornish valley. It shares an acre of garden with the owners' house, Mellangoose Mill, which was a farm and water mill for over 500 years.

Simply but comfortably furnished, the cottage is approached up four granite steps. From the patio area with its table and benches visitors overlook the garden, which has a (rough!) putting green, a swing, ducks and an orchard among mature trees and pasture. The small Trevarno River runs close by.

Mellangoose is half a mile off the main Penzance road down a narrow lane; little traffic passes the house. Helston is a mile away, Porthleven's pubs, pasties and the sea two miles.


The Shippen

Top Deck

The village of Pelynt has a general store (Spar) and Joe O'Keeffe has a general store and butchers. There is an excellent restaurant, The Dagger, and also a public house, The Jubilee Inn. Hambly's coaches run regular services locally and also to Plymouth and Truro.

Tregarthen is situated in an ideal position for visiting the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the many lovely gardens, cliff walks and National Trust Properties in South East Cornwall.

Trewardreva Mill Cottage
One mile from Constantine, this delightful cottage (sleeps 4) has a very homely atmosphere with a colourful garden. Dogs welcome.

The sitting room has a large fireplace and exposed beams, an oil fired rayburn in the kitchen and an invaluable utility area. The cottage has two upstairs bedrooms (twin & double) and upstairs bathroom.

Nearby footpaths take you through beautiful wooded valley with stream to Constantine and Helford River. Available between May and October - 15 minute drive to Falmouth and Helston. Helford River and sandy beaches can be reached by 10 minute drive. Parking available for two cars.
