Our holiday cottage, in the very heart of Grasmere Village on a quiet lane, offers cosy but spacious accommodation (three bedrooms) for up to five adults and one child.
One Field Foot is within just a minute's walk of buses, shops, pubs and restaurants, and yet it is down a quiet private lane leading to a footpath (suitable for the disabled) along the banks of the River Rothay.

Tarn Cottages are superbly located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, next to the tiny White Moss Tarn, on the bridleway between Grasmere and Rydal Mount. The cottage is in a peaceful, secluded location accessible by car, with a parking space.
It is surrounded by woodland at the rear, with the south facing front enjoying beautiful views of Loughrigg Fell and Rydal Water. A large part of the garden belongs to the cottage, and this is shared by mutual agreement with the other two cottages. Although secluded, the cottage is not isolated, being only a few minutes drive to the centre of Grasmere. The cottage makes an ideal base for walkers, even without using the car it is possible to set out on a variety of long walks and easy strolls. The fells to the rear lead up to the Fairfield range of mountains, while the Loughrigg and Rydal areas provide gentle and beautiful countryside. Wordsworth's home, 'Dove Cottage' is only a few minutes walk down the lane. White Moss tarn, adjacent to the cottage, was reputably used for skating by the Wordsworth family.

The stone built cottage in its own grounds, completely fenced off, with a good sized orchard making it especially suitable for children. There are open views from the cottage and although it is a quiet position it is not isolated, there being several other cottages and bungalows in the immediate vicinity. A garden seat, picnic table and 4 chairs are available in the garden.
The cottage is situated in a small hamlet 3/4 mile from Levens village and 6 miles south of Kendal on the fringe of the English Lake District. it is easily reached from the M6 motorway and the Kendal link road, being approximately 1.6 miles from latter.
The nearest village, Levens, is just 15 minutes walk away and consists of a Post Office, Hairdressers and a General Store selling newspapers in addition to general provisions. There is a Public House, the Hare & Hounds, further 5 minutes walk from the village and two further Public Houses within two miles of the cottage. Bar meals are available at these Public Houses. |

Broad Ings is a typical roomy Victorian house, superbly situated in 16 acres of its own steeply sloping wooded grounds. 400 ft above Waterhead with superb panoramic views over Lake Windermere, and the central Lakeland Fells.
There is plenty of walking in the area and the centre of Ambleside is approximately one mile away. The house has a full fire certificate.
Access to the property is by a steep, narrow, rough single track. If it snows, or is icy, you must leave your cars at the bottom and walk to the property, approximately 1/2 mile.

Depending on the time available, the choice is yours.
A security deposit of £100 is required per booking which is returned on satisfactory inventory after the holiday.

Thurston View - Part of an elevated terrace of old, stone, miners' cottages which have magnificent views towards Coniston village and the lake; yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. Located in the heart of the Lake District, Coniston is a small village with shops, pubs and several cafes/restaurants. Winner of the "1997 Village of the Year Award".
There are many walks leaving directly from the village. Across the lake is Grizedale forest whilst to the rear of the Cottage tower the Old Man of Coniston, Wetherlam and the Yewdale Fells. Boat and cycle hire are available locally and many activities can be enjoyed both on the lake and around the village. |

Only three miles from Broughton-in-Furness with four excellent pubs, good shops, cycle hire etc. Oil-fired central heating and double-glazed windows throughout. The upstairs lounge takes advantage of the extensive open views and has one of two open fires. With one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, bathroom and shower room, this is an ideal spot away from the crowds yet within easy reach of the central Lakesland fells and nearby sandy beaches.

Bigland Hall nearby, offers activities such as fishing and clay pigeon shooting, in addition there are two golf courses at Grange. One being a Fell course approximately 1.5 miles away and the other in Grange, which is 3 miles away.
The surrounding countryside provides an abundance of hikes for the more energetic visitor, and for those wishing for something a little more staid, there are dozens of sedate walks to choose from, choice is entirely up to you.
