Anam Cré Studio is situated in Silver Birch woods in the beautiful Ballygriffin Valley just 3 miles from the popular town of Kenmare. The house has a large garden and private parking facilities. It is a five minute walk from the house to a local grocery shop and church. A mile away there is a sandy beach and 1.5 miles away is the fishing village of Ballydavid. There are restaurants and pubs nearby and an 18 hole golf course at Ballyferriter about four miles away.

For lovers of the sport of fishing, are available on the famous Blackwater river. The newly opened "Village Arts Centre" in Kilworth hosts all types of entertainment including concerts and theatrical pieces. There are many top class restaurants in the local vicinity. Kilworth is within one hour of the sea (Ardmore and Youghal). For those who like to go on a shopping spree not only are there top quality shops in Fermoy but Cork city is only twenty seven miles away.

The Old School House was converted into a holiday cottage in 2003 sitting within its original stonewalled playground the school provided the centrepiece for education of families within the McGillucuddy Reeks parish from 1898. With views overlooking Carrantouhill (Ireland's largest peak) and adjoining the Ring of Kerry tourist route the area is packed with entertainment for lovers of the outdoor life. Situated midway between Killarney & Killorglin all the trophy sports venues are in close proximity.
The cottage is 0.5 km off the main road, is unique in design & studiously quiet. The original school house fire is the epicentre of the open lounge/diner. |
