Yorkshire Dales Cottages

1 South View
This Victorian cottage is in a peaceful village within walking distance of Hawes. In a sunny position, it has beautiful views across upper Wensleydale.

The cottage is welcoming and comfortable, with antiques and country furniture, exposed beams and a cosy Victorian open fire. There is a sheltered enclosed yard at the rear.

From the cottage there is direct access to a network of footpaths providing leisurely walks, as well as more challenging ones. It is also an ideal location for fishing, cycling and paragliding. In the centre of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, many visitor attractions are within easy reach. Hawes is a busy little market town with excellent shops, restaurants, pubs, banks, museum and weekly market.

2 South View
2 South View is in Burtersett, a picturesque, quiet village in the beautiful countryside of Upper Wensleydale, one and a half miles from Hawes. Burtersett is on a hillside beneath the summit of Yorburgh and the north and of Wether Fell. It is an ideal location for walking, moutain biking, activity holiday as many walks and rides can be undertaken direct from the cottage. Daily and weekly fishing tickets are available from local shops for fishing in the River Ure and in Semerwater - both are less than 2 miles away. The area is ideal for those who just wish to relax in idyllic scenery.

Less than 2 miles away is Hawes, a small market town, which has pubs, restaurants, shops, banks and an excellent fish and chip shop. A cattle market and a general market are held on Tuesdays each week and there are many visitor attractions such as the Upper Wensleydale Museum amd the National Park Information Centre.


Alma Cottage
Alma Cottage has a great character and is of the highest quality - ETC 4 stars. Dating back to the 18th Century, it has low beamed ceilings and stone stairs, but a high standard of modern comforts. In winter the cast-iron stove is a cosy addition to the central heating, while in summer the south-facing stone-walled garden is a real sun trap.

The village of Kirkby Malzeard is a friendly one, and guests particularly like our local pub, the Henry Jenkins, and the high-class butcher across the road. Fish and chips, a light lunch or tea, or a full evening meal are all available in our street.

The wonderful scenery of the moors and dales surrounds the village - you can hear the curlew call from our garden! Many local stately homes, heritage sites, gardens, market towns, picturesque villages and a wealth of other attractions leave most of our guests eager to come again.


Brow Cottage
2 Cottages - Elm Hill Holiday Cottages are two adjoining stone-built cottages situated on the Main Street in the unspoilt village of Askrigg which have been recently refurbished to a high standard to provide warm and comfortable accommodation. The Cottages share a private off road parking area and a patio garden.

Askrigg is an attractive and friendly village in upper Wensleydale with a village shop, Post Office, tearoom, 2 pubs, a restaurant and a renowned home cooked meals take away.

For the walker Askrigg is the base for many excellent walks throughout the Dale many of which can be linked to the regular bus service to provide longer routes.

Handy for visiting the Lake District, Hadrians's Wall, the Yorkshire Moor, York and Lightwater Valley Theme Park.


Cobble Cottage
Cobble Cottage is situated in the beautiful village of Dent, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is a charming semi-detached cottage built around 1800 in the very centre of the village.

Dent's tearooms and pubs offer quite a choice for eating out. There are several shops in Dent plus a bus service to and from Sedbergh, Oxenholme Station and Kendal.

Dent Railway station is about 4 miles from Dent Village and is situated on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Moors are only a short drive away.

Dragon Cottage
This charming cottage built in the 1700's as the stable block for the village inn, now offers comfortable accommodation in the peaceful village of Dent.

For rail enthusiasts, the settle to Carlisle Railway has a stop at Dent Station and for those who wish to browse around the shops, the bustling market towns of Hawes and Sedbergh are nearby and the beautiful Lake District is only a short drive away.

Within strolling distance of the cottage, through the cobbled streets, the village provides a village store, tearooms and two public houses serving lunch and evening meals.


Gragareth Cottage
4 Cottages - Situated close to Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales and famous for its waterfalls and caves. These 4 converted stone built cottages sleeping 2 to 7 people are set in 6 acres of beautiful countryside with superb panoramic views in all directions, situated midway between the villages of Low Bentham and Burton-in-Lonsdale. There are three pubs, general store and post office all within walking distance and footpaths cross the area.

Grainsholme Cottage
Grainsholme Cottage is attached to the old farmhouse and offers ground floor accommodation in idyllic and peaceful surroundings, an excellent base for walking and exploring the magnificent scenery of upper Swaledale. Guests are welcome to wander over the farm's 30 acres of surrounding countryside, a superb place to relax and unwind.

Gunnerside Village is 2 miles away with PO, pub and tea room. Wensleydale is within easy driving distance and the nearby towns of Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond all have market days to enjoy at your leisure. The cottage is south-facing with solid fuel CH an open fire with additional heating from electric convector heaters. There is a private water supply.


Haughside Cottage
Haughside Cottage is set in mid Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, enjoying superb views of Barden Fell and the Wharf Valley with splendid riverside and fell walking from the door.

It's a good base for exploring Yorkshire's abundant attractions including Stump Cross, Bolton Abbey, Embsay Steam Railway, Settle to Carlisle Railway, Malham Cove, Aysgarth Falls and many more.

Haughside Cottage is also close to Grassington and the historic market town of Skipton and within reach of the Northern Dales & the North Yorkshire Moors.

Weekly bookings from April to October, short breaks will be accepted one week in advance if still available.
Short breaks available at any time between November and March.

Jasmine Cottage
Jasmine Cottage is an ideal base to explore the Yorkshire Dales with Masham and Leyburn only a short drive away. The Cottage is also ideally located for visits to Ripon, York, Harrogate, and the North Yorkshire Moors.

Yorkshire's east coast resorts of Whitby and Scarborough are also about 1 hour's drive away, and well worth a day trip out.

There are several racecourses within easy reach including Ripon, Catterick, Thirsk and York.

The village itself has an historic past with Snape Castle, situated at the head of the village, once reputed to have been the home of Catherine Parr.

The cottage overlooks the village green with its meandering beck, and is adjacent to the C14th Castle Arms Inn with its range of fine ales and excellent restaurant menu.

Snape Village is just a short drive away from the market towns of Bedale and Masham where all amenities are available.

No 2 Middlegate
No 2 Middlegate is a traditional, old stone miners cottage situated in the quiet village of Burtersett, approximately 1 mile from the market town of Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It was built in the early 1880's and is one of 16 quarry houses standing in the middle of the village. The village stands on the south side of Wensleydale with superb views up and down the dale.

The cottage has recently been renovated to provide modern living in a traditional environment. It now offers high standard holiday accommodation for four people with everything you will need for your holiday.

We are sure you will enjoy your holiday in Upper Wensleydale. There is always plenty to see and do with ever-changing seasonal landscapes.


No 7, Pasture Road
Built around 1910, the house has all that you need for a relaxing holiday. Comfortable, warm and spacious, it is set well back from the road in a quiet location near to the centre of the village.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is just across the road giving you wonderful opportunities for an active or relaxing holiday. A 20 minute stroll up Pasture Road takes you to the local reservoir and the moors above the village.

The Village shop, Post office and 2 pubs are two minutes walk away.. There is a regular bus service from Embsay to Skipton, which is on the main coach routes and railway line from Leeds.

Redmire Farm
Set within dramatic scenery in tranquil Littondale you will find Redmire Farm. A detached Grade II Listed farmhouse, dating from 1711. It is ideal for both small parties and group bookings. Within open countryside with stunning views, facing south and overlooking the river Skirfare it is within easy reach of Haworth, Settle, Skipton, Leyburn and the beautiful Bolton Abbey. Redmire is ideal for walkers and families alike.

Having been lovingly restored Redmire Farm boasts luxurious furnishings, inglenook and open fireplaces, with exposed beams and stonework. Sitting room with stone feature fireplace (open fire).

There is walking direct from the door, with paths weaving through fells or meandering along the banks of the river. Indeed this region invites much exploration, and it is fair to say that one visit will never be enough to see all that there is to see here - from waterfalls thundering down giant gorges to ancient settlements and castle ruins, which add much character to the almost unspoilt landscape.

Riverside Walk
Riverside cottage in listed mill conversion situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Perfectly located for outdoor enthusiasts, both the Pennine Way and the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way are just yards from the front door.

There are several local pubs serving great food in nearby Malham, famous for its Cove and Tarn. Skipton with its Castle and Market is 8 miles away and the Settle/Carlisle Railway, just 6 miles.

The cottage has lovely views and is tastefully furnished with sumptious fabrics.

South View Cottage
South View is a traditional and comfortable stone cottage with a walled garden, which is situated in a quiet and friendly village.

From the cottage there are stunning views over the Dales. On a small green opposite is a children's play area.

The cottage provides an good base for exploring the excellent surrounding countryside. It is close to the Coast to Coast footpath and the Pennine Way. There are plenty of local castles, abbeys and the unique "Forbidden Corner". There is easy access to the northern cities.

Wilsey House
Wilsey is located close to the hamlet of Gawthrop, just above the village of Dent in the picturesque valley of Dentdale. This makes it an ideal location for those wishing to explore not only the local Dales but also puts Wilsey within easy reach of the nearby Lake District.

The local rivers abound with Salmon and Trout thereby presenting anglers with plenty of opportunity. There is an array of golf courses nearby, including Sedbergh, Casterton and Kirkby Lonsdale. The nearby village of Dent with its cobbled streets is home to a fine Norman church and has strong connections with the traditional Dales hand knitting industry.

In addition to the usual cafes and convenience stores Dent is also home to two Public Houses, both of which welcome families and serve traditional ales and food. A granite fountain on the cobbled main street commemorates local geologist Adam Sedgewick, who discovered the nearby Dent Fault, which separates the limestone Dales with the shales of the Lake District.
